Here it is, October 1.\u00a0 This is the launch date of the new electronic magazine Airplanista<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 If you like airplanes, all kinds of airplanes, from Jenny\u2019s to jets to ultralights to antique Cessnas and Pipers to biplanes and sailplanes and seaplanes, you should check out Airplanista<\/a><\/em>.<\/em>\u00a0 If reading about pilots and what they do interests you, really, check out Airplanista<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 Another good thing about\u00a0Airplanista<\/a><\/em> includes the photographs.\u00a0 Everyone likes pictures of airplanes.<\/p>\n

Dan Pimentel, also known as Av8rdan, has been blogging on aviation topics for the last five years.\u00a0 As a trained journalist and former sports editor who is also a pilot, he said it was time to transition the blog into something more.\u00a0 As a result, Dan created the idea of his electronic magazine, Airplanista<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

I became involved in\u00a0Airplanista<\/a><\/em> when asked to provide monthly columns with news about Embry Riddle Aeronautical University<\/a>.\u00a0 I have served as an assistant professor, flight instructor and check airmen at the university for the last 20 years.\u00a0 I look forward to providing\u00a0Airplanista<\/a><\/em> with news about the school, the students, the research, and events happening around campus, such as next week\u2019s Wings and Waves Air Show.<\/p>\n

If you are anywhere in the Southeast United States over the weekend of October 8 \u2013 10, you should try to stop by The World\u2019s Most Famous Beach\u00a0to take in the Wings and Waves Air Show.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s show features the Snowbirds Demonstration Team, of the Canadian Air Force.\u00a0 Additional military jet demonstrations include flights by the U.S. Navy\u2019s F\/A-18 Hornet, and the United States Air Force\u2019s F-22 Raptor and F-16 Viper.\u00a0 An historic P-51 Mustang will join the Air Force jets and the three aircraft will fly formation in a Heritage Flight pass along the beach in front of the hotels.<\/p>\n

Other aerobatic performers include Matt Chapman, <\/strong>Mike Goulian, Julie Clark, Greg Poe, Mike Wiskus, Corky Fornof, Rob Holland, Jason Newberg, the Skytypers, and Tim Plunkett\u2019s World War I Aviation Collection.<\/p>\n
