This landing page will give me a chance to better serve you, the readers. I have different interests and as such, I find myself writing about many things. My mainstays are aviation and writing (imagine that). Sometimes, life in general, gets me going, especially when there is something in the news that is absurd, strange, or extremely newsworthy. Don’t just read what I have written – respond! Make a comment! Start a discussion. That is one of the reasons for this blog – to share ideas. If you would like to know more about me, check out my about page. And please, don’t forget to engage in the conversation – leave comments!
Here are my latest half-dozen or so blogs:
As Arnold said, “I’ll Be Back!” I have been away from writing for too long a time. There were many reasons for this, but all that has kept me away from the blog has been or is about to be rectified.
One Man’s Story. Ed Jackel lived an amazing life. As with many, when he was young he had difficulty because of world events. But he overcame, lived well, and wrote about it.
Engine Failure on Takeoff. Probably the most feared and dangerous place to have an engine failure: right after takeoff and below a safe altitude.
A Blog for the Young. Many young people are fearless, it is something that “comes with the territory.” The thing about this fearlessness is that it can come with quite a price.
Experience. Many times, I must ask myself, am I a writing pilot, or a flying writer? Benjamin Franklin came up with a lot of quotes. My favorite? “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”
“A Soldier’s Trust.” This is an incredible story of camaraderie, devotion, dedication, and bravery. Today, 54 years ago, one Huey pilot and his crew saved some 30 soldiers trapped in a place called the Ia Drang Valley in Vietnam.
For my friends who would like to know more about writing and publishing, here are some tips that I hope help, along with a bit of general knowledge about book publishing.
For pilots in general, here are my blogs about flying.
For the many intrigued about aviation history, check out these writings.
