Another Grand Experiment

To quote from a couple of great songs from long ago, “Help, I need somebody!” and “I get by with a little help from my friends.”

You may have noticed a couple of changes in the blog. I moved my blog from the free hosting at WordPress.com to my servers over at Inmotionhosting.com, where we have our Internet publishing presence.

Why you ask, did I make the move?

Well, like many things in life, it all boils down to money. We were very pleased and happy with the hosting at WordPress. However, we were unable to monetize the site and sell advertising. By being in control of all aspects of the blog, we have so much more freedom to do what we want to do. I want to be able to promote our books and the books written by the authors we publish.

Now, here’s where I ask for a little help from my friends. I spent considerable time migrating the blog content from the named servers over at WordPress to our servers at Inmotionhosting.com. If you see anything on the blog that does not work, please send me a message and let me know. I will fix it.

In addition, I believe all of my subscribers may have to re-subscribe to continue receiving the blog by e-mail. I added the Feedburner plug-in for subscriptions; if you look at the top of the right hand column, you will see that nifty “Subscribe by E-mail” subscription form.

Additionally, I will send out an e-mail notification to the subscribers to let them know what has happened to the blog, in the event this does not go out in e-mail as I hope.

By the way, I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to read my writings. I hope I have helped some pilots try to figure out the intricacies of flying; I hope I have given guidance to a few writers; and I hope I have provided a moment or two of chuckles to someone who may be having an otherwise dismal day—or a happy day.

In particular, I want to thank each of you for the kind comments I have received from literally all over the world. This experimenting with a blog over the last 10 months is, in my opinion, an unqualified success.

Thank you, again.

Okay, the first thing I found not working was the subscription form. I will get back to you on that as soon as I can…
