Happy Birthday

It happens to all of us once a year and we have little to say about it. There is nothing we can do to hasten the event or prevent it.

We celebrate our birthdays every year. Each year we become a little older and it is about us…or is it? Rather than praising ourselves, should we not take a moment to give thanks to the person who brought us into this world?

The day we came into the world, we regard as a special day. It is a day that we should celebrate. And we are completely within our rights to celebrate and spend the day in any manner we choose. After all, its our birthday, right?

No one should ever have do work on their special day. This is not a day for the office, store, school, or shop. When it is one’s birthday, they should have the right to do anything they please. Anyone with a birthday should use the entire day for napping, fishing, skiing, going to the movies, or anything else that may be enjoyable. We have actually known some ladies who, just to celebrate their birthday, had a baby daughter themselves—just to mark the occasion. Can you imagine that? If it is your birthday, whatever you do, just don’t work!

This day, this special day, should be remembered just for what it is, your birthday. There is no space or place for anything other than personal celebration.

You may have your cake and eat it, too. If only on this day. We have heard, researched the facts, and discovered it is true that on this, your special day, cake and ice cream hold no calories.

Now, call up your mother, or offer up a special prayer to her for going through everything she had to endure in birthing you into this world.

For everyone out there who has a birthday today, Happy Birthday!

From us to our very good friends Linda and Beth, have a very special Happy Birthday!
